What is a World Cup sweepstake?
A World Cup sweepstake is a random draw where each player is assigned one or more qualified national teams. Players follow their teams through the tournament, and the winner is usually the player whose team lifts the trophy or goes furthest in the competition.
How do you run a World Cup sweepstake?
Once the draw opens, add everyone taking part and press Run Draw. The complete World Cup team pool is shuffled and dealt across the group, with no slips of paper, spreadsheet or manual setup needed. The organiser can then share the results with the group.
Is the World Cup sweepstake draw random?
Yes. The qualified teams are shuffled randomly before being assigned. In one-pick-per-player mode, each team can only be drawn once, so every player receives a unique team until the field has been used.
How are World Cup teams assigned?
The available teams are shuffled, then dealt across the player list in rounds. With fewer players than teams, some players receive more teams so the complete field is covered fairly for offices, pubs, families and group chats.
How many players can join a World Cup sweepstake?
World Cup 2030 features 48 teams, which makes it one of the biggest sweepstakes you can run - ideal for large offices. If your group is smaller than the field, players can be given more than one team so every team is covered.
What happens if my team is knocked out?
That is part of the fun - most groups agree that the player whose team goes furthest wins. Some groups add side prizes, like a refund for the first team eliminated or a prize for the highest-scoring group-stage team.
How much does a World Cup sweepstake cost?
When live, the World Cup draw will include the complete tournament field for up to 4 players. Pro will add larger groups, saved private results and draw options for a one-off £1.99 - no subscription.
When will the World Cup 2030 sweepstake be available?
It opens once the World Cup 2030 line-up is confirmed. In the meantime you can run a free Premier League sweepstake.
